Agarista populifolia (Ericaceae)
A Southeastern native that is perfect for foundation plantings; multi-stemmed, with arching branches that give a soft, informal appearance. Racemes of fragrant creamy-white flowers appear in May and June beneath shiny narrow leaves. Also useful as an understory planting in woodlands, along stream banks and for screening in moist shade. Disease- and pest-free; dependable and easy if sited well. One of our best loved and best selling native evergreens.
