Agastache foeniculum (Lamiaceae)
(ag-ah-STA-chee foe-NICK-ew-lum)
Anise Hyssop

Dense cylindrical spikes of blue-violet appear in late spring and continue to bloom all season long. Provides great vertical color in sunny borders and is prized by honey bees, hummingbirds, and myriad other pollinators. Rub the foliage between your fingers to release the anise scent; makes an excellent and tasty tea, or a unique addition to salads. Deadhead to prevent seeding into smaller gardens. Tough and easy; thrives in sunny, well-drained areas.
