Get back to basics with this classic species Echinacea. Narrow hot-pink petals reach upward, then widen as they gracefully bend down. Genus name means ‘hedgehog’, referring to the prominently round and spiky center; vivid orange cones dry to brown, and make a great textural addition to flower arrangements. Blooms profusely through summer on sturdy stems above deep-green basal tufts. An iconic wildflower and traditional medicinal plant that has wooed generations of gardeners.
