Helianthus angustifolius 'Gold Lace' (Asteraceae)
(hee-lee-AN-thus an-gus-ti-FO-lee-us)
Narrow Leaf Sunflower

Thin, narrow-leaved foliage towers up to 5-6' and explodes with 2" gold sunflowers in the late-summer and fall landscape. 'Gold Lace' reaches a more restrained height and is less vigorously spreading than typical Swamp Sunflower, yet has the same lovely golden-yellow flowers. It also blooms several weeks earlier. It is happy in moist-to-average growing conditions. Pleasing companions include fall-blooming salvias, asters and ornamental grasses. Thanks to Dick Bir for sharing this plant. A North Creek introduction.
