Iris x 'King Creole' (Iridaceae)
Graceful, erect, narrow foliage and showy flowers -- violet falls with yellow signals and white standards on 2-3' stems. This Louisiana Iris is hardy well beyond the border of it's name state. Plant in any soil that stays moist or even in the standing water of a pond's edge or hard to drain area. Intersperse early summer blooming 'King Creole' with 'Full Eclipse' for subtle contrast and extended bloom period.
