Lonicera x 'Mandarin' (Caprifoliaceae)
(luh-NIS-er-a)
Mandarin Honeysuckle

A sterile, complex hybrid of Asian and native honeysuckles introduced by the University of British Columbia. 'Mandarin' is a vigorous spreading vine covered with bright orange sherbet colored blooms. Blooms in early summer, with occasional intermittant blooms until fall; will also bloom in part shade. Like other Lonicera vines, it's a twiner, so easy to train on an arbor or trellis. Nice dark bluish cast on new foliage.
