Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus' (Poaceae)
'Gracillimus' is one of the oldest and best known Miscanthus cultivars. Very narrow green blades are each decorated with a subtle white stripe down the midrib. This adds an overall silvery sheen to the large, rounded mass of leaves that tops out at 5-6'. In fall, plumes open burgundy and fade to soft pink, then buff. A mature clump reaches 3-4' in width and can be divided every few years. One of the latest blooming Miscanthus.
