Monarda fistulosa 'Claire Grace' (Lamiaceae)
Lavender Bee Balm
In the South, mildew loves the foliage of Monarda. However, this variety was discovered in the Deep South in Tylertown, MS, and selected for its resistance to powdery mildew. Soft lavender flowers appear on 3-4' plants. Barb and Michael Bridges of Southern Perennials and Herbs found this form and named it after their lovely daughter.
