Passiflora lutea (Passifloraceae)
(pass-eh-FLOOR-ah LOU-tee-ah)
Yellow Passion Flower

Greenish-yellow flowers 1/2-1" wide appear (usually in pairs) on this native Passion Flower vine. Tendrils readily grab nearby shrubs, trees or trellises to scramble upon. If nothing is available, it happily becomes an attractive ground cover; the rounded, 3-lobed foliage is delicate and attractive. Tolerant of shade, but will bloom more in full sun. Grows well in dry, light shade. Like Passiflora incarnata, this is a host for the Gulf Fritillary butterfly. Native.
