Polemonium reptans (Polemoniaceae)
In late spring, the delicate light-blue flowers of Jacob's Ladder draw many "oohs and aahs" here at Niche. Found in rich woodlands and along creeks and streams from the upper Midwest south to LA, and running along the Appalachians north to NY. Mounding plants are compact and lush, with narrow, oppositely pinnate leaves. In warmer climates, it's best to site in moist shady areas; try it in sweeping masses or dotted throughout any rich woodland garden..
