Rosa 'Caldwell Pink' (Rosaceae)
Caldwell Pink Rose
Discovered in Caldwell, TX, thought by some rosarians to be an old "lost rose" from the 1800's. A polyantha rose, believed to be descended from crosses of R. multiflora and R. chinensis. Grows into a compact shrub that is tough, hardy and floriferous — one of our most heat-tolerant and disease-resistant roses. Double blooms in variations of pale pink; alas, they are not fragrant. Prized for its especially long bloom period, heavy blooming habit and manageable size. 'Caldwell Pink' is well-suited for containers, smaller gardens or the front of the border.
