Sedum lineare 'Variegatum' (Crassulaceae)
From a distance, this low, scrambling sedum of 4-6" looks muted soft green, but on closer inspection, you realize it has a subtle creamy white stripe along the outside of the smooth, tiny, linear leaves. Still, the green is an unusual shade, exactly like mossy concrete statuary and looking just right in its company. The flowers are not the significant feature of this plant, but they appear in early summer in cymes of yellow nestled just above the foliage. Great for nooks and crannies; tuck this sedum among rockery or along a path in sunny to lightly shaded areas. Not native.
