Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' (Asteraceae)
(so-li-DAY-go rue-GO-sa)
Rough-Leaved Goldenrod

A 1993 Niche Gardens/NC Botanical Gardens Introduction. We were pleased to be asked by Ken Moore to propagate and co-introduce this wonderful goldenrod with the NCBG. Now, 24 years later, 'Fireworks' is still going strong as one of our all-time best selling plants. More compact than many Solidagos, and also more floriferous, with lacy domes of bloom like exploding golden fireworks in early fall. Since it is indigenous to savanna conditions, ideal garden placement is a sunny, moist site of moderate fertility. 'Fireworks' has gained worldwide fame as THE goldenrod for sunny gardens and meadows.
