Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' (Asteraceae)
(so-li-DAY-go rue-GO-sa)
Rough-Leaved Goldenrod
A Niche Gardens/NC Botanical Gardens Introduction. We are honored that Ken Moore asked us to propagate this goldenrod as a NC Botanical Garden introduction in cooperation with Niche Gardens. At 3-4', 'Fireworks' is more compact than most of the species. It is also more floriferous, with lacy domes of bloom like exploding golden fireworks in early fall. Since it is indigenous to savanna conditions, ideal garden placement is a sunny, moist site of moderate fertility. 'Fireworks' has gained worldwide fame as THE goldenrod for sunny gardens and meadows.
