(sim-fee-AH-tri-cum oo-len-tan-gee-ENSE)
Sky Blue Aster

A lovely clumping aster found in prairie, meadow, and roadside habitats throughout the length of the Mississippi Valley. Leafy rosettes produce airy branching flower panicles, loaded with small lilac-blue daisies from late summer to fall. This versatile aster is hardy and drought tolerant, preferring sandy loam but adapting to heavier clay soils. (Formerly Aster azureus.)
