Echinacea tennesseensis (Asteraceae)
A rare and endangered species coneflower found only in central TN. Strappy green foliage is topped with abundant bright rose-purple flowers with spiky centers. Petals are narrow and turn upwards, following the sun across the sky from June-August. Culture is similar to other Echinaceas: full sun and average well-drained soil. More delicate than beefier coneflowers, so give it some space to spread without competition. Our crop is seed-grown.
