Rhododendron austrinum 'Red-Orange Form' (Ericaceae)
(ro-do-DEN-dron aus-TRI-num)
Florida Azalea

An unregistered cultivar of R. austrinum was selected by Ernest Koone from plants growing at his nursery. It is a typical R. austrinum but with more reds and oranges in the usually yellow flowers. Our plants are grown from open pollinated seed collected from stock plants of his selection, and should show much the same red-orange color as the parent plant. Like all R. austrinums, these will be large, spring blooming, fragrant azaleas.
