Hemerocallis x 'Olallie Flamenco' (Liliaceae)
There are literally thousands of registered Daylily hybrids but if I could only have one, it would be this one. Flowers are a rich, velvety, deep, dark, burgundy-blood-red with a yellow throat. Bad grammar I know, but how else to describe this fabulous bloom? Even more impressive when massed, or contrasted with yellows. Like other Daylilies, it likes it wet but can tolerate drought, needs full sun for profuse bloom. Periodically divide and share with your closest garden friends.
