Lonicera sempervirens 'Cedar Lane' (Caprifoliaceae)
'Cedar Lane' is an outstanding native honeysuckle selection -- unusually long, narrow leaves have a blue-green cast, and turn red in the fall. Narrow, tubular blooms are carmine-red with a yellow throat, perfect for hummingbirds. Last year, ours at Niche flowered from February through to June, an unusually early and long bloom period. Give it some assistance in climbing, as it is not an aggressive twining spreader.
