‘Winter Red’ is noted for its profusion of berries in fall: vivid red, with color persisting longer into winter than other I. verticillata cultivars. Native to swampy wet areas throughout the Southeast and tolerant of a wide range of soils, from average to heavy, in full sun to part shade. Matures to a rounded form of 6-8'. An easy-to-grow shrub that offers winter color and food for wildlife. 'Winter Red' is best pollinated by 'Southern Gentleman'.
