Illicium parviflorum 'Florida Sunshine' (Illiciaceae)
Small Anise Tree
The bright colors are really spectacular on this new Anise Tree selection, discovered by Tony Avent among seedlings grown by Florida plantsman Charles Webb. The chartreuse leaves absolutely glow in shady areas. In fall, the color changes to a bright yellow, with contrasting red stems for a brilliant winter show. Grows full for screening even in shade, won't ever get browsed by deer, and can tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. When mature, 'Florida Sunshine' will be a bright garden focal point.
