Hot Summer Coneflower

Developed in the Netherlands, 'Hot Summer' is a hybrid coneflower from Marco van Noort. Large 4 1/2" blooms with downward arching petals open a yellowish-orange, morph to orange, and finally mature to a deep red. With blooms in various stages, a single plant can have multiple colors at the same time. 'Hot Summer' grows upright to 3' on sturdy well branched stems that don't require staking. Flowers are fragrant, and 'Hot Summer' will bloom from late spring though summer, and into fall if deadheaded. Provides nectar for butterflies, seed for birds, and cut flowers for people.
