Sarracenia x 'Ritchie Bell' (Sarraceniaceae)
The dynamic Sarracenia duo of Larry Mellichamp and the late Rob Gardner created many beautiful pitcher plant hybrids, but this may be their most showy. Aptly, it is named after the esteemed botanist, Sarracenia expert Dr. C. Ritchie Bell. A cross of S. purpurea x (S. rubra x S. psittacina) x S. leucophylla, with the evergreen traits of the former, and height of the latter. Rob's description is perfect: "This hybrid has beautiful lettuce green pitchers, with undulating hoods suffused with rich dark burgundy and speckled with pearly white stars." 'Ritchie Bell' is robust and unique, a must for any Sarracenia collector. (Limit 3 per customer)
