Heuchera x 'Stainless Steel' (Saxifragaceae)
A vigorous introduction from Primrose Path. Medium-sized leaves open a clear bright silver, with narrow veins that darken as the foliage matures. Undersides are an eggplant purple. Blooms in late spring with white bell flowers that float above the foliage on wiry stems. This cross contains H. pubescens, a tough and drought-tolerant species endemic to the acidic rocky soils of the Allegheny and Cumberland mountains.
